This is the first time I had read anything by Amy, with that being said, it will not be the last. This series was addicting. Amy has a good writing style and I would highly recommend this book to others.

Amy and me and the Devil make three, or is it eight?

Amy Cross has a way of grabbing you by what scares you the most and lures you in. Your heart will beat and you will look over your shoulder after every word.
I read book one titled "The Arrival" and as soon as I saw I could grab all eight in one volume. I jumped on it without hesitation.
We meet Paula and learn about her quest so to speak to find out the truth about what had happened at Devil's Briar, a small remote town in the middle of the Colorado wilderness. Each book we learn more and more about what had happened to the small town and those who lived there. The last book will make you want to sleep with the lights on, and will make you change your mind about any trip into the woods again!

Trapped in a loop

When I started this book, I almost didn't even finish the first page.
It seemed a very bizarre start to a book, with you dropped into a story with no character development or back grounding.
Eventually I continued the read and found that all the blanks were filled and questions answered.
Although I enjoyed the story, I don't think the ending was as good as it could have been.
And there were the occasional spell check vs proof reading error (eg "there was a gash in the fuel thank")
Although most of the story is fairly tame supernatural style thrills, there is the occasional burst of horror/gore.
Be warned!
