And...the plot slows again

I enjoy The Immortals series, but the series as a whole has been hit and miss for me. I thought Evermore and Blue Moon were great, but Shadowland was only so-so for me. The series picked back up with Dark Flame, but slowed down again with Night Star.
The events in Night Star occur over a few days' time--something I have never really liked. I like reading about characters over months of time, not days. I've noticed that this whole book-happening-in-a-week phenomenon occurs much more frequently in YA.
I think that bothered me about Night Star was the lack of villian(s). We know Haven is evil, but she just felt way too unstable to be a huge threat. With Roman out of the picture, and Jude lying low, I missed the action of the previous books in the series. I'm still looking forward to Everlasting, the last Immortals book, but my anticipation is tempered by slightly lowered expectations due to my hot and cold relationship with this series.
Just One Gripe:
I just don't think that the whole book should have been about Ever's dilemma with not being able to touch Damen. I need more action!
The Best Thing About This Book:
I liked Ever's decision at the end of the book. I also think that Ever grew up some during Night Star and evolved as a character.

First chapter starts off with a bang

In the first few pages of Chapter 1 Ever disposes of Haven! From there the story keeps you moving and from putting the book down. I just wanted to keep reading to see if they'd find the antidote. I gave it this rating because I really did love the characters and the story line. I'd recommend this book.

So bad

This book wasn't good. I suffered through it, though I tried.
Haven has become so different! Everyone seems crazy about Ever. The quest for the antidote continues and it gets wearisome and annoying, actually. This was a waste of a book and the series could have easily done without it. :: sigh ::
