This book was basically porn- lots of sex with a weak story line written around it. Classless, desperate trailer park girl with low self-esteem turns on best friend's brother (her life-long crush) with her skimpy clothes and flirting, he has a hard time controlling himself, quickly gives in to temptation over and over again, it's a dream come true. One moment he's condescending to her, oh but he cares, back to condescending, always jealous, possessive and controlling. Guess that's supposed to be love to some people? It was irritating. The constant sex was always in detail and always the same- rough, emotionless, do this and that, insert tacky porn phrases here, repeat. The fact that this was written as a love story with a happy ending of marriage is pretty sad.

I DID NOT like how she portrays Melanie as a sleazy two bit slut. First time they have sex is on her break and they get caught. Second time he is giving her oral sex on his desk at work and they get caught.
The jumping into sleazy sex and phone sex... all he cared about was a piece, and she let herself be a two bit slut. Don't care much for the books that encourages women to be treated like that.

First off, I'm giving only three stars because the writing didn't flow. Great concept of a book, but her writing style was KILLING ME! I love reading but this was just dreadful.
This book is about a racecar driver who comes back to his hometown to find the young girl he always thought of as his sister's best friend, all grown up. She, of course, has always been in love with him, yada, yada, ya. Next thing you know is sex, love, vacations, hate, arguing, love, sex, sex, love and marriage.
SPOILER ALERT!!!
There is no way, shape or form that someone goes from fighting and arguing one minute to having multiple orgasms the very next without any details of how and why. I mean, I'm not naive by no means and makeup sex is the best but, without any sort of conflicting evidence as to why the fighting started in the first place is completely confusing. I kept on having to go back several times just to try and understand what was going on. Usually with books like these I don't end up finishing them, but I had to find out if it for any better..... don't worry, it didn't.
Also, how does the mother go from hating Melanie the whole book and is so rude and obnoxious to get in front of people, to suddenly happy that she's going to marry her son. No depth. No explanations. Total confusion.
Like I said, 3 stars for zero flow. Hopefully the author gets it right on another book.
