Anna Karenina is definitely a great Russian classic and can be found in many places. I would choose this version specifically because it comes with illustrations and easily accessible footnotes. The footnotes explain and expand on many things that one would otherwise not know if one does not come from a Russian background. Most helpful.

This is of one of the greatest novels of all time.You missed a lot if you did not read it. Translation is great easy to read and understand. The footnotes, interactive dictionary, explanatory notes are just a click away. The illustrations are terrific.

It's a classic

Since the book is a classic, the rating is a given. I wanted to read it before considering seeing the movie. It was an engrossing story that was not as difficult to follow as I had expected. One does need to get a good handle on the Russian naming conventions (patronymics, nicknames) to help not getting lost. There were some political type discussions that would be better appreciated a second time around, perhaps. This version is helpful in terms of the introduction and footnotes. I would highly recommend - particularly for long winter nights in front of the fire.
